About College
NITTTR, Bhopal has an excellent track record of introducing several new systems in the technical education and has successfully implemented several time-bound and professionally challenging projects for varied clientele. In nineties, the Institute has successfully served the client states in implementing the highly acclaimed and successful World Bank Assisted Projects viz. Tech. Ed. I & II on Strengthening the Technician Education System. The third phase of this project, Tech. Ed. III is being implemented now in the North-Eastern states in which the Institute is providing need-based customised support as an Academic Consultant to the states of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.
The NITTTR, Bhopal has, in the past, demonstrated its potential for catering to the wide ranging needs through innovations in Technical Education System as well as to the job market needs of the developing countries also. The institute, with its enhanced mandate, has now become a major resource institution and a centre of excellence for the overall growth and expansion of technical education system of the country and has larger responsibility to contribute to a wide ranging diverse labour market.
The Institute holds expertise through continuous R&D in the areas of HRD, curriculum development, design & development of learning resources, educational management, policy formulation, continuing education, student assessment, multi-media development, community networking, industrial liaison and technical education research.

Based on the recommendations of the different Review Committees appointed by the MHRD, Government of India, the Institute has been up-graded and renamed as the “National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR)”, Bhopal. This has brought about substantial changes in the mandate of the institute enabling it to cross the regional boundaries and function as a resource institution at National and International levels for entire gamut of Technical Education Sector.
Over the years, the nature of activities of the NITTTR Bhopal have expanded far beyond the “teacher development” concept and undergone a major role-shift to cater to the changing labour market vis-à-vis the changing needs of Technical Education System. As NITTTR, Bhopal the institution has geared itself with the updated resources and infrastructure to support the overgrowing demand of bringing quality in technical education through strategic support and networking with the other centers of excellence, which has also been emphasised by MHRD and AICTE in a workshop conducted at NITTTR, Bhopal. There has been a substantial change in the mandate enabling the institute to cross the regional boundaries and function as a resource institution at National and International levels for entire gamut of technical education sector.
