Government Polytechnic College, R.K. Nagar, Chennai was established by Government of Tamil Nadu in the year 2016, to take into account the necessities and goals of the R.K. Nagar individuals who can't manage the cost of the expensive specialized courses offered by the private organizations.
This school began working first in the Central Polytechnic College grounds at Tharamani, Chennai and afterward after the fruition of building works and foundation of labs was moved to the present area in the year 2018. You can reach college by both railroad and busway. By Railway, it is closer to V.O.C. Nagar Railway station and it has transport offices from different areas of city.

Lateral Entry Admission Certeria
For Admission in Second year (III Semester) in three year diploma courses, the student is required to clear the Higher Secondary Examination (Academic or Vocational) of 10+2, under the following conditions
Academic Stream 10+2 compuslory with Physics, Chemistry and Maths
Vocational Stream Studied at least maths or chemistry or physics along with the related Vocational Subject (Theory & Practical) at 10 + 2
Condition for Lateral Entry Admission
Candidate of only Tamil Nadu are eligible for Lateral Entry Admission
