Jamia Millia Islamia New Delhi has originally been established in 1920 at Aligarh in United Provinces, India. In 1988, it became a Central University by an act of the Indian Parliament. The institution offers integrated education from nursery to research in specialised areas. The story of its growth from a small institution in the pre-independence India to a central university located in New Delhi is worth its success. Jamia Millia Islamia is affiliated by University Grants Commission, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), as well as by the Association of Indian Universities. 

Apart from the enormous amount of facilities that the campus has, it also offers a large no. of courses at the undergraduate (55), postgraduate diploma programme (11), masters programme (83) and doctorate programme level (50). The institution has 9 faculties which include faculty of Law, Engineering and Technology, Architecture and Ekistics, Humanities and Languages, Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Education, and Dentistry.
