Take your internship very seriously (seriously)

Get in on time(without complaining about how early it is or how late you were up the night before)

Listen very carefully and always take notes (just when peopl are giving you assignments, not during social situations)

Do more than is expected on every single assignment (unless more costs more)

There is always something you can do (so let your team or boss know when you are available, don’t just wait until someone notice you are free)

Show up people are replying on you ( A school assignment is NOT a reason to “call in sick”)

Understand that you don’t know it all(even though you feel like you do)

Do not unnecessarily distract other who are busy working (even though Project Runway was particularly great last night)

Look out for opportunity to demonstrate what you do know and how you can contribute (but don’t push it - nobody likes a show off)

There are (almost) no stupid questions. (ignorance is not bliss, just ignorant and it can be a major waste of time.)

Be proactive, If there is nothing official for you to do, figure something out on your own. (Like get to know the book collection so when someone is looking for something you can be helpful or go through the portfolio so you can really study the company’s work.)

Don’t just follow directions, think about what you are doing while you are doing it.( so when the designer says “but that’s illegible” you won’t have to say,”I know!”)

Understand that the success of the internship is( almost) entirely up to you.

Be eager to learn and people will be more likely to teach you.

If you are interested and eligible, let us know more about you by applying online for internships commencing in the months of May and June 2017. Thereafter, the applications may be submitted by the 5th of the month preceding the month from which you intend to join. If you are shortlisted, we will announce it on our website along with your date of joining and internship tenure.

THERE ARE 5 TIPS FOR MAKING YOUR INTERNSHIP GREAT:

1. SEEK ADVICE

You should not be afraid to ask your colleagues questions about how you can one day land a permanent spot on the team and achieve success in the field of your choice. Others can advise you on what to study, and what may not be necessary.

2. MAKE AN IMPRESSION

You should not fade into the background. Take the short amount of time during your internship you have with the company, such that you share a good rapport with the staff and they will keep you in mind for future opportunities. Never know who might influence the job you're applying for in the future.

3. FIND A MENTOR

You should identify an established leader in the company with whom you feel comfortable and ask to mentor you. Most likely they would agree to your request. Seek their advice and career guidance and work to create a relationship that will last long after the internship ends.

4. LEARN AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

You should take advantage of the short period of time you have with the company to learn as much about the workplace as you can. Co-workers who work at positions that you find even remotely interesting can help you identify your career.

5. SET A FUTURE PLAN

You should schedule a time to come back to your shadow colleagues and meet with your mentor post internship. Then, visit a CollegeKhabri office and meet with a workforce specialist to set a career pathway. Then apply your skills and knowledge that you've gained from your internship and eventually achieve your goals of dream career.
